Privacy Policy — CopaFut

1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how CopaFut (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) handles information when you use our mobile application.
CopaFut is an independent football information app focused on national teams. It provides match data, player statistics, AI-generated narratives, tactical analysis, and related editorial content.
We believe the best way to protect your privacy is to collect as little personal data as possible. CopaFut does not require an account, does not collect your name or email, and does not track you across the internet.
By using CopaFut, you agree to the terms described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

3. Information we handle
3.1 Information you provide to us
None. CopaFut does not require registration. You can use the entire App as a guest.
We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, date of birth, photo, address, or any directly identifying information.
Preferences you set inside the App (e.g., favorite national team, notification settings, display language) are stored locally on your device only and are not transmitted to our servers.
3.2 Information collected automatically
When you use the App, we may automatically receive:
- Device information: device model, operating system version, App version, language and region.
- Anonymous usage events: which screens you view, which features you use, session duration. These events are not linked to your identity.
- Crash reports: stack traces, device model, OS version, App version, and the sequence of screens visited before the crash. These do not contain personal content.
- Push notification token (only if you opt in to notifications): a device-specific token issued by Apple or Google, used solely to deliver the notifications you opted into.
- Approximate region: inferred from your App Store country for language and content localization. We do not collect precise GPS location.
3.3 Information we do NOT collect
We do not collect or access:
- Your real name, email, or phone number
- Your contacts, photos, files, calendar, microphone, or camera
- Precise GPS location
- Health, financial, or biometric data
- Social media profiles or handles
- Advertising identifier (IDFA) for cross-app tracking
4. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- Deliver football content (matches, players, narratives, stats) to your device
- Send push notifications you have explicitly enabled (e.g., match starting, goals by your favorite team, lineup announcements)
- Detect and fix crashes and bugs
- Understand aggregated usage patterns to improve the App
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not:
- Sell personal information to anyone
- Share personal information with advertisers or data brokers
- Use your data to train machine learning models
- Profile you for personalized advertising
- Combine data across different services to build a user profile
If advertising is shown inside the App in the future, it will be non-personalized contextual advertising only unless you separately and explicitly consent.
5. Third-party services
CopaFut relies on the following services. Each has its own privacy policy which governs their handling of any data they process.

We do not sell your information to any third party.
6. Data retention
- Data stored on your device (preferences, cached content): persists until you uninstall the App, clear its storage, or reset it.
- Server-side logs (anonymous crash and analytics events): retained for up to 90 days, then automatically deleted.
- Push notification tokens: retained while your device is registered for notifications. Automatically purged within 30 days after you opt out or uninstall.
- Aggregated, anonymized statistics: may be retained indefinitely because they cannot be linked back to an individual.
7. Your rights
You have the following rights regarding information we handle:
- Access: you may request a copy of any data we hold about you.
- Deletion: you may request deletion of data associated with your device.
- Opt-out: you can disable push notifications, analytics, and optional data collection at any time inside the App’s Settings screen.
- Portability: where applicable, you may request your data in a machine-readable format.
Because CopaFut does not tie data to a personal identifier, in most cases the most reliable way to delete all data associated with your use of the App is to uninstall the App. This will remove all local device data immediately; backend events expire within 90 days.

EU / EEA / UK residents (GDPR)
Our legal bases for processing are:
- Legitimate interest — for delivering the App’s core functionality and basic diagnostics
- Consent — for push notifications and any optional analytics
You may withdraw consent at any time. If you believe we have violated your rights, you may file a complaint with your national data protection authority.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
We do not sell or share personal information as defined under the CCPA. You have the right to know, delete, correct, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
8. Children’s privacy
CopaFut is rated for users aged 4 and older and is suitable as informational content. The App does not contain chat, social features, user-generated content, or direct messaging.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Security
We follow industry-standard practices to protect information:
- All data in transit uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Content is served through Cloudflare’s global infrastructure, including DDoS protection and bot mitigation
- We do not store passwords, credit card numbers, or other sensitive credentials — because we don’t collect them
No system is 100% secure. In the unlikely event of a data incident that affects you, we will notify you within the timeframe required by applicable law.
10. International data transfers
Our content delivery network operates globally. Data associated with your request (such as your IP address) may be processed in countries outside of your own, including the United States and the European Union. Where required by law, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms for cross-border transfers.
11. Third-party trademarks and data disclaimer
CopaFut is an independent, unofficial project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FIFA, UEFA, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, the AFC, CAF, OFC, or any national football federation, league, club, or team.
Team names, player names, match results, statistics, and similar information displayed in the App are factual data provided by third-party data providers and are used for identification and informational purposes only.
Logos, crests, flags, and images displayed in the App are provided by our data partners solely for identification of the relevant team, player, or competition. Such visual assets may be subject to trademark or intellectual property rights held by their respective owners. CopaFut does not claim ownership of any third-party trademarks.
All trademarks and registered trademarks are property of their respective owners.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. For material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the App after a revised policy has been posted constitutes acceptance of that revised policy.
